About the position

The Assistant Chief Financial Officer (ACFO) at Frye Regional Medical Center plays a crucial role in supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) by overseeing the financial operations of the hospital. This position is part of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial statements and records in accordance with GAAP. The ACFO will manage the Accounting/Finance Department, implement regulatory changes, and monitor financial performance to safeguard hospital assets.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the operations of the Accounting/Finance Department including financial statement preparation and maintenance of the general ledger.
• Implements and adheres to regulatory, GAAP, and other changes affecting the accounting cycle.
• Ensures compliance with company financial and accounting policies and procedures, and monitors internal controls.
• Ensures timely completion of monthly close deadlines and maintains supporting documentation for all activities.
• Assists with the identification and assessment of financial risk and communicates findings to the regional CFO and hospital CEO.
• Monitors financial performance and maintains appropriate financial plans and forecasts.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• Preferred CPA designation or an advanced degree.
• At least 5 years of progressive financial healthcare experience or equivalent in general accounting, financial systems, and financial statement preparation.
