The Assistant Civil Engineer will work under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer to assist project teams in creating world-class designs for a variety of projects. These projects include power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government, and military facilities. The role involves collaborating with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting civil plans according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs. In this position, the Assistant Civil Engineer will assist in the civil design of projects from the conceptual phase through to design completion. This includes modifying and reviewing production drawings for various projects, such as power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, and governmental and military facilities. The Assistant Civil Engineer will also be responsible for designing civil components that meet the project needs and requirements set forth by project managers. The role requires applying basic knowledge of commonly used civil engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the civil engineering services industry. The Assistant Civil Engineer will assist with research and compile project-related data as required by project managers, compile studies and reports, and correct and update drawings provided by senior engineers. Additionally, the Assistant Civil Engineer will assist with client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration for various facility designs. Field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients may also be part of the responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, and compliance with all policies and standards is expected.
