About the position

The Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator assists with the execution of study protocols, including screening and recruiting study participants, conducting study visits, and collecting, entering, and reviewing study data. Patients will be recruited for multiple ongoing clinical trials in Labor and Delivery and in a busy OB clinic setting. The associate must have good communication skills and good attention to detail, demonstrate interpretive, analytical, and organizational skills. This position will be responsible for preparing and editing datasheets. Information is entered into a computerized research database. The person in this position will collect and process research specimens. The specimen processing includes centrifuging the samples, aliquoting into the correct tubes, freezing and occasionally using liquid nitrogen or dry ice for freezing and shipping.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting participant interviews, either in person or via phone for enrollment information.
  • Follow up data collection and scheduling follow up appointments for women and their children.
  • Electronic medical record screening and data abstractions.
  • Data quality checks, assisting with data cleaning and quality assurance.
  • Assisting with creation of study materials.
  • Generating new data and information.
  • Editing and formatting reports.
  • Project administrative duties including participant tracking and compensation for study subjects.
  • Managing incoming phone calls and other communications.
  • Scheduling patients' appointments, updating documents/regulatory binders, maintaining supply inventory, and other tasks as defined by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Human subjects research experience or experience providing care for patients in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work and communicate with diverse populations effectively and professionally.
  • Ability to work independently as well as function as part of a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to speak and write Spanish fluently.
