About the position
The Assistant Coach for Flag Football at Lincoln High School is responsible for supporting the head coach in executing the athletic program's objectives. This role involves supervising student athletes, preparing them for competitions, and ensuring adherence to safety and sportsmanship standards. The position requires a commitment to fostering a positive and instructive environment for athletes while maintaining compliance with district and WIAA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervises student athletes to promote effective learning through athletic participation.
- Assists the head coach in preparing athletes physically and mentally for competitions, administering discipline fairly, and emphasizing safety.
- Oversees practice sessions, teaching fundamental skills and promoting good sportsmanship among team members.
- Follows district procedures for handling injuries and ensures the safety of all participants.
- Manages the issuance and return of equipment, maintaining accurate records and conducting safety checks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- First Aid Certification, CPR Certification, and Lifeguard Training are required.
- Some coaching experience is preferred.
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with students in a coaching capacity.
- Knowledge of the specific sport and its regulations.
