About the position

Long Island University is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Gymnastics Coach to join our gymnastics program. This position plays a crucial role in assisting the head coach in all aspects of coaching, training, and team management, while fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in planning and conducting training sessions, focusing on skill development and performance improvement.
• Provide individualized coaching and support to athletes, helping them achieve their personal and team goals.
• Assist in preparing athletes for competitions, including warm-up routines, mental preparation, and strategy development.
• Help manage team logistics, including travel arrangements and scheduling.
• Evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback to promote growth and development.
• Participate in recruitment efforts by scouting potential student-athletes and engaging with prospective recruits.
• Support the organization and execution of team events, fundraisers, and community outreach initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with NCAA regulations and university policies.

Requirements

• Previous coaching experience in gymnastics at the club, high school, or collegiate level is required.
• Strong knowledge of gymnastics techniques, routines, and competition standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a coaching team.
• Passion for mentoring and developing student-athletes.
• Demonstrated continued completion of relevant coursework at the college level.
