About the position
The Assistant Coach for Men's Soccer at Dartmouth College plays a vital role in the coaching staff, contributing to the planning, coaching, recruiting, and promotion of the men's soccer program. This position requires collaboration with the head coach to develop game strategies, manage player lineups, and prioritize recruitment efforts, all while adhering to NCAA, Ivy League, and institutional standards. The Assistant Coach is expected to provide independent judgment in coaching instruction and represent the program to various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and coaching the men's soccer program under the direction of the head coach.
- Participate in recruiting efforts and evaluate prospective student-athletes.
- Provide recommendations and decisions regarding game strategies and lineups.
- Communicate effectively with recruits and their families.
- Promote the men's soccer program within the community and to constituents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree plus 3-5 years of experience in coaching or playing men's soccer at the high school or collegiate level.
- Strong knowledge of men's soccer skills and strategies.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to work with a diverse community.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to recruit effectively without athletic grants.
