About the position

The Assistant Coach for Boys Wrestling at Boulder Valley School District plays a crucial role in guiding and preparing high school athletes for competition. This position involves working closely with the head coach to implement training programs, coordinate team activities, and ensure compliance with school and league regulations. The assistant coach is responsible for fostering a positive environment that promotes athletic skill development and teamwork among students.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with coordinating the varsity wrestling program and summer/off-season activities.
  • Implement expectations and direction of the wrestling program.
  • Prepare the team for competitions through effective training and strategy.
  • Teach fundamental and advanced wrestling skills to athletes.
  • Attend CHSAA and League/Region Coaches' meetings as required.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, players, school staff, and media.
  • Follow BVSD, school, and CHSAA regulations and policies.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Complete and submit the BVSD online application.
  • Ability to communicate (read, write, and speak) in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous coaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of senior high school athletic/activity programming.
  • Proven leadership qualities and successful experience in working with high school students.
