The Assistant Community Manager role is responsible for assisting in all operational duties of the Community Manager, including reporting, rent processing, leasing, marketing, and overseeing the community and associates in the Community Manager's absence. The incumbent in this role must possess a high degree of professionalism and positive engagement for our residents and the workforce. This includes creating a sense of community and going the extra mile to create a positive experience for all residents and staff. Your success and purpose are driven by the relationships that you build within your communities, including vendor partners, regulatory and social services partnerships. This role requires an authentic attitude, active listening, and a commitment to ensuring that each resident and staff feel seen, heard, and valued as you work to resolve challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all operational duties of the Community Manager including reporting, rent processing, leasing, and marketing.
  • Oversee the community and associates in the Community Manager's absence.
  • Provide A+ customer service at all times, managing resident satisfaction and retention.
  • Respond to complaints, questions, and requests in a timely manner, taking appropriate action to resolve service issues.
  • Organize and execute resident appreciation and retention events.
  • Handle all financial transactions of the property, including collecting, posting, and depositing rents and security deposits.
  • Review resident files and ledger records to determine unpaid and/or late fees owed, and communicate with residents regarding outstanding balances.
  • Inspect the property for community policy violations, needed repairs, and overall landscaping.
  • Support Leasing Consultants in the leasing of apartments and ensure Fair Housing guidelines are followed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience as an Assistant Community Manager.
  • Knowledge of LIHTC/Tax Credit, HUD, ADU, and Rapid Rehousing Programs is highly desired.
  • Excellent communication skills and unmatched dedication to customer service.
  • Solid track record of bookkeeping and rent collection.
  • Thorough understanding of landlord/tenant law and Fair Housing Laws.
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to get along with diverse personalities.
  • Resourceful and organized with solid computer knowledge, including Windows (Word, Excel), internet, and email.
  • Working knowledge of Yardi Voyager Property Management software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in property management or real estate industry.
  • Familiarity with community engagement strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
