About the position

The Assistant Community Manager supports the Community Manager in overseeing the financial and operational aspects of a residential community. This role involves accounting tasks, financial reporting, and ensuring resident satisfaction while managing day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Community Manager in managing financial operations of the community.
  • Complete daily transactions related to rent collection and financial reporting.
  • Operate property management software (Yardi/OneSite) for financial transactions.
  • Review resident files for unpaid fees and communicate with residents regarding balances.
  • Process invoices from vendors and contractors for payment.
  • Follow procedures related to evictions and represent the community in court if necessary.
  • Process resident move-outs and apply appropriate fees according to lease terms.
  • Promote resident satisfaction by addressing complaints and service issues promptly.
  • Act as the on-site supervisor in the absence of the Community Manager.
  • Assist in managing client/owner relationships and provide updates on community performance.

Requirements

  • Experience in property management or a related field.
  • Proficiency in property management software, preferably Yardi or OneSite.
  • Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of local housing laws and regulations.
  • Experience in conflict resolution and negotiation.
