About the position

Fairfield Residential is seeking an Assistant Community Manager who is bilingual in English and Spanish to join our team at Rock Peak on Sunset, a community with 360 units located in Longmont, CO. In this role, the Assistant Community Manager will work closely with the Community Manager to ensure that the property meets its revenue and profit targets while maintaining high standards of customer service and resident retention. This position is ideal for someone eager to leverage their leasing and marketing experience in property management. The Assistant Community Manager will be responsible for managing the resident experience, supporting the property's accounting needs, and adhering to leasing policies. This is a dynamic and busy position that requires a customer-centric mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The Assistant Community Manager will also be involved in various accounting and bookkeeping tasks, including maintaining property accounting and reporting, collecting and posting rent, preparing financial reports, and processing invoices. Additionally, they will utilize property management software such as Yardi to track and report on financial activities. Customer service and sales skills are essential, as the Assistant Community Manager will lease apartments, address resident concerns, and promote satisfaction and retention. Teamwork is crucial, as this role involves mentoring the leasing team and collaborating with the Community Manager on property operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all property accounting and reporting, including collecting and posting rent, financial and leasing reports, month end, pre close, bank deposits and ensuring a balanced rent roll.
  • Prepare monthly close-out and financial reports.
  • Process invoices for payment.
  • Collect rent, fees, and other payments.
  • Complete bank deposits, dispositions, and account reconciliations.
  • Use property management software such as Yardi to record, track, and report on all financial workings of the community.
  • Lease apartments using your leasing and sales experience.
  • Promote resident satisfaction and retention by responding to complaints, questions, and requests in a timely manner.
  • Take appropriate action to resolve and address service issues.
  • Lead and mentor the leasing team, providing guidance related to leasing, closing, marketing, apartment files, and resident retention.
  • Work closely with the Community Manager regarding all property operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of residential leasing, sales and/or property management experience required.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required.
  • Experience in leadership and supervising a staff preferred.
  • Experience using Yardi or other related property management accounting software.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong math and accounting skills.
  • Understanding of financial statements (budget, financial reports, accounting information, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local fair housing laws and provisions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
  • Valid driver's license required.
