About the position

As an Assistant Community Manager - Multifamily with Hines, you will support the Community Manager in overseeing the financial and operational aspects of the community. This role involves accounting and bookkeeping tasks, preparing financial reports, and ensuring resident satisfaction and retention.

Responsibilities

  • Completes daily transactions related to the financial operation of the community by collecting and posting rent, preparing daily bank deposits, and reconciling bank accounts.
  • Reviews resident files and accounting records, communicates with residents regarding outstanding balances, and implements procedures for collecting on delinquencies.
  • Adheres to established procedures related to evictions and represents the community in court hearings as required.
  • Reviews and submits invoices from vendors for payment by reconciling work performed or products purchased.
  • Processes resident move-outs by reviewing lease terms and notice requirements.
  • Promotes resident satisfaction by responding to complaints and service issues in a timely manner.
  • Acts as the on-site supervisor in the absence of the community manager, organizing and delegating daily work.
  • Assists in managing the client/owner relationship by conducting community tours and providing updates on performance.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Two or more years prior experience in property management or a related industry preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
