About the position

The Assistant Community Manager - Multifamily at Hines plays a crucial role in supporting the Community Manager in overseeing the financial and operational aspects of the community. This position involves managing daily transactions, ensuring resident satisfaction, and maintaining effective communication with residents and owners. The role is essential for maximizing revenue and promoting a positive living environment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete daily transactions related to the financial operation of the community, including collecting and posting rent, preparing daily bank deposits, and reconciling bank accounts.
  • Review resident files and accounting records, communicate with residents regarding outstanding balances, and implement procedures for collecting on delinquencies.
  • Adhere to established procedures related to evictions, including following proper notice requirements and representing the community in court hearings.
  • Review and submit invoices from vendors and contractors for payment, reconciling work performed or products purchased.
  • Process resident move-outs by reviewing lease terms and notice requirements.
  • Promote resident satisfaction and retention by responding to complaints and service requests in a timely manner.
  • Act as the on-site supervisor in the absence of the community manager, organizing and delegating daily work and coordinating maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in managing the client/owner relationship by conducting community tours and providing updates on community performance.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Two or more years of prior experience in property management or a related industry preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
