About the position

The Assistant Community Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Community Manager in overseeing the financial and operational aspects of a residential community. This position involves accounting tasks, financial reporting, and ensuring excellent customer service to residents. The role is essential for maintaining the community's operational efficiency and resident satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Support and assist the Community Manager in managing the financial and operational facets of the community.
  • Complete accounting and bookkeeping tasks, including preparing monthly close-out and financial reports.
  • Process invoices for payment, collect rent, fees, and other payments, and complete bank deposits.
  • Use property management software to record, track, and report on all financial workings of the community.
  • Assist the leasing team in conducting apartment tours, both virtual and in-person.
  • Review and submit invoices from vendors and contractors for payment.
  • Process resident move-outs according to lease terms and legal requirements.
  • Respond to resident questions and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Act as the on-site supervisor in the absence of the Community Manager.

Requirements

  • Previous property management experience is required, fee management preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and Yardi/OneSite software highly desired but not required.
  • Financially savvy with experience in creating and adhering to budgets and fiscal reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of professionalism in manner and dress.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Experience in customer service roles.
