About the position

The Assistant Community Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Community Manager in the effective management of the assigned property. This position is responsible for maintaining daily operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant laws, and fostering positive resident relations. The Assistant Community Manager will also take on the Community Manager's responsibilities in their absence, including financial reporting and property inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Community Manager in managing the assigned property effectively.
  • Assume all responsibilities in the Community Manager's absence to meet property objectives.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports, including accurate reporting of rents and deposits.
  • Conduct business in accordance with company policies, Fair Housing, and other relevant laws.
  • Update all rents, deposits, and other monies received from residents and other sources promptly.
  • Issue appropriate notices for late payments, eviction notices, and returned checks.
  • Maintain a positive resident relations attitude and inspect the property regularly.
  • Perform leasing duties, including greeting prospective clients and conducting property tours.
  • Contact residents with Notices to Vacate to encourage lease renewals.
  • Monitor local market conditions and contribute marketing ideas to improve resident satisfaction.
  • Update the on-site accounting system for all property activities, including leases and service requests.

Requirements

  • 2 years of LIHTC, HUD, and Section 8 experience (required)
  • 1 year of experience in property management (required)
  • 1 year of experience with Yardi or Yardi Voyager (preferred)
  • High School diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email (Gmail)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Yardi or Yardi Voyager
  • High School diploma or equivalent
