About the position

As an Assistant Community Manager at Cortland, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the operations of a multifamily apartment community. This position involves problem-solving, enforcing community rules, and maintaining organization within the property management framework. You will be responsible for ensuring resident satisfaction and managing various administrative tasks to support the Community Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Community Manager in overseeing the operations of the apartment community.
  • Address and resolve residents' issues effectively and empathetically.
  • Enforce community rules while maintaining a positive relationship with residents.
  • Organize and maintain detailed records and reports related to property management.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, vendors, and team members.
  • Manage administrative tasks such as billing, filing, and rent collection.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3 years of experience in sales preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in marketing preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in property leasing preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in property management preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to enforce policies with empathy and professionalism.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • Leadership experience is a plus.
