About the position

The Assistant Community Manager will play a vital role in managing a 165-unit affordable housing community in Lancaster, SC. This position focuses on providing exceptional customer service, overseeing safety management, and developing skills within the team. The role involves ensuring the community thrives by managing various administrative tasks related to tenant certifications and maintenance requests, while also striving for 100% occupancy.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Annual Recertifications (AR) and Interim Certifications (IR)
  • Process verifications and Special Claims
  • Manage move-outs and move-out deposit accounting
  • Prepare monthly utility spreadsheets
  • Submit collections as necessary
  • Oversee the Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist
  • Assist in the inspection of units, buildings, and common areas
  • Ensure all maintenance requests are handled promptly and efficiently
  • Prepare and lease all vacancies in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Experience with Yardi software
  • Knowledge of Section 8 (HUD) and LIHTC certifications
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook
  • Ability to supervise 2 or more staff members
  • Calm demeanor in stressful situations
  • Administrative experience
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
