About the position

The Assistant Community Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and financial functions of a housing community under the supervision of the Community Manager. This role plays a vital part in managing rent collection, optimizing cash flow, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety guidelines. The Assistant Manager will also supervise staff, manage leasing operations, and maintain property standards to enhance resident satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee everyday operations and financial functions of the housing community under the Community Manager's supervision.
  • Manage delinquency and collection of rent to optimize the property's cash flow.
  • Process and reconcile daily account receivables and monitor bad debt.
  • Assist in meeting budgeted revenues, expenses, and Net Operating Income.
  • Post all payments and charges to resident accounts accurately and timely.
  • Conduct regular audits of resident files to ensure accurate records.
  • Supervise onsite staff, ensuring compliance with company policies and effective performance.
  • Implement marketing strategies and resident retention programs.
  • Manage customer service and monitor maintenance staff responsiveness.
  • Maintain property appearance and ensure timely completion of repairs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two years of experience in the housing industry or related experience and/or training.
  • Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to understand and perform all onsite software functions; basic computer skills required.
