As an Assistant Community Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining the high standards of our properties, ensuring that our residents love where they live. This position is integral to our sales and management team, working closely with the Community Manager to meet revenue and profit targets while providing best-in-class customer service and fostering high resident retention rates. In this busy and exciting role, you will be responsible for cultivating and managing the resident experience, supporting the property's accounting needs, and adhering to leasing policies. Your superior leasing and marketing experience will be essential as you take the next step in your property management career. The Assistant Community Manager will maintain all property accounting and reporting, including collecting and posting rent, preparing financial reports, processing invoices, and ensuring a balanced rent roll. You will also utilize property management software such as Yardi to track and report on all financial activities. Customer service is a key component of this role. You will leverage your leasing and sales experience to lease apartments and promote resident satisfaction by addressing complaints and requests promptly. Additionally, you will lead and mentor the leasing team, providing guidance on leasing, marketing, and resident retention strategies. This position reports directly to the on-site Community Manager, and successful associates may have opportunities for promotion to more senior positions within the Property Management team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all property accounting and reporting, including collecting and posting rent, financial and leasing reports, month end, pre close, bank deposits and ensuring a balanced rent roll.
  • Prepare monthly close-out and financial reports.
  • Process invoices for payment.
  • Collect rent, fees, and other payments.
  • Complete bank deposits, dispositions, and account reconciliations.
  • Use property management software such as Yardi to record, track, and report on all financial workings of the community.
  • Lease apartments using your leasing and sales experience.
  • Promote resident satisfaction and retention by responding to complaints, questions, and requests in a timely manner.
  • Resolve and address service issues appropriately.
  • Lead and mentor the leasing team, providing guidance on leasing, closing, marketing, and resident retention.
  • Work closely with the Community Manager regarding all property operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of residential leasing, sales and/or property management experience required.
  • Experience in leadership and supervising a staff preferred.
  • Experience using Yardi or other related property management accounting software.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong math and accounting skills.
  • Understanding of financial statements (budget, financial reports, accounting information, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local fair housing laws and provisions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
  • Valid driver's license required.

  • Familiarity with additional property management software.
