About the position

The Assistant Controller at Rohde & Schwarz is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of financial data, overseeing the monthly close process, and maintaining compliance with accounting policies and procedures. This role involves leading financial reviews, coordinating audits, and providing training on internal controls and accounting procedures. The position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting and integrity of financial data.
  • Review monthly schedules, analysis, and reconciliations of key financial accounts.
  • Be responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the monthly close process.
  • Lead monthly balance sheet and P&L review meetings, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Review monthly financial statements, flux reports, and supporting information for completeness and accuracy.
  • Function as a technical resource for accounting matters.
  • Drive development, adherence, and maintenance of internal control processes.
  • Coordinate and participate in both annual external and internal audits.
  • Integrate LEAN concepts into team work processes.
  • Train, mentor, and facilitate growth of introductory level team members.
  • Create and maintain essential function procedures and generate written policies for compliance with FAR/CAS/GAAP.
  • Provide training to non-financial personnel on internal control compliance and accounting procedures.

Requirements

  • BS in Accounting.
  • CPA/MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of combined public and private accounting experience.
  • Experience with SAP focusing on FI and CO, with a basic understanding of MM, SD, CS.
  • Detail-oriented with problem investigation and resolution skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions.
  • Proficient with MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Strong communication skills to present financial information effectively.
  • Flexible to work non-traditional hours, overtime, weekends, and occasional travel.
  • Unquestionable integrity and personal ethics.

Nice-to-haves
