About the position

The Assistant Controller will support the Senior Vice President in managing the accounting functions of a hotel property. This role involves overseeing financial practices, ensuring accurate reporting, and leading a team of accountants to maintain effective financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of the annual budget
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end financial processes and reporting
  • Supervise and lead a team of Staff Accountants
  • Act as the primary contact for accounting technology projects
  • Collaborate with the Senior Vice President in analyzing the organization's financial performance and budget planning

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
  • Proficiency in preparing financial statements, journal entries, and budget analyses
  • Experience in payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory control
  • Knowledge of accounting software like MS Dynamics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills to manage a large team effectively
