About the position

The Assistant Controller role focuses on manufacturing and is responsible for providing advanced financial analysis of routine and technical business transactions. This position assists the Site Controller in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, compliance, and process improvement, aiming to strengthen the finance area and enhance its role as a business partner within the manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cost of production statements.
• Assist in the month-end close process, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations.
• Support the forecasting and budgeting process and provide analysis on variances between actual results and forecasts.
• Develop financial forecasts and models for strategic decision-making and sensitivity analysis for the site.
• Help maintain and enhance internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits and prepare audit schedules.
• Conduct cost analysis to identify areas for cost savings and process improvements.
• Assist in developing cost standards and analyzing variances against standards.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, GAAP, and IFRS, and assist in researching complex accounting issues.
• Continuously improve work procedures and processes, including documentation and efficiency improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive work experience in Finance.
• Expert level in Microsoft suite of products, especially Excel, Power Query, and Power BI.
• Highly skilled in communication and presence.
• High drive, resilience, and proactive approach.

Nice-to-haves

• MBA Degree and/or professional certification (e.g., CPA).
• Experience in a manufacturing or similar working environment.
• Proficiency with ERPs and BI/BW.
