About the position
The Assistant Controller at Silvi Materials will play a crucial role in managing daily general ledger accounting activities and supporting the Corporate Controller in delivering timely and accurate financial information for strategic planning. This position involves overseeing financial accounting and operations, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and maintaining the integrity of financial records, all while contributing to the company's growth and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily general ledger accounting activity.
- Assist the Corporate Controller in providing timely and accurate financial information.
- Supervise staff and senior level accountants.
- Prepare internal and external financial statements and operating reports.
- Assist in the year-end audit process.
- Provide management with accurate and timely information for decision making.
- Improve accounting and internal control systems.
- Oversee regulatory reporting and compliance.
- Manage special projects and assignments as directed by the Controller.
Requirements
- B.S. degree with a major in accounting or finance.
- At least five years of relevant experience in a large-scale manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication, analytical, and management skills.
- Extensive experience with accounting software and spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of all aspects of basic accounting.
- Experience in manufacturing, cost accounting, or auditing is highly valued.
- Flexibility and adaptability to change projects on short notice.
