About the position

Cacique Foods is looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to enhance its financial operations in Irving, Texas. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial processes and supporting the company's operational goals as it transitions to more structured business practices. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, overseeing financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, general ledger management, and close processes.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, supporting month-end and year-end processes.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain compliance with company policies.
• Drive development and evolution of the control environment and implementation of standard processes and procedures.
• Collaborate cross-functionally for financial transparency and operational alignment.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and support ERP and systems initiatives for operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of 7-9 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment and with supervisory responsibilities.
• CPA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Ability to effectively execute on a small team and build relationships across the business proactively.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Microsoft Excel (advanced level required, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP).
