About the position

The Assistant Controller will play a vital role in supporting the financial management and reporting processes of the organization. This position is essential for ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and will assist in overseeing financial operations, budgeting, and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards
• Support the Controller in managing the month-end close process and ensuring timely reporting
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and oversee the accuracy of financial data
• Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances to ensure financial goals are met

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a construction or contract management environment
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements

Nice-to-haves

• Sage experience
• Knowledge of job costing principles and practices
