About the position

The Assistant Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the plant, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining accounting records, and implementing internal controls. This role supports the Plant Controller in decision-making aligned with corporate objectives and involves managing various accounting departments to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial practices.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the activities of the accounting department for accurate and timely financial management reports.
  • Manage the disbursement department to ensure timely processing of accounts payable and payroll tax compliance.
  • Oversee accounts receivable management, including billings and cash receipts applications.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing and benefits administration.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory bodies regarding taxes and financial reporting.
  • Establish and maintain systems to verify the integrity of financial data and processes.
  • Respond to the Plant Controller with accurate and timely financial information.
  • Participate in special projects and compile various reports as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers, management, and clients.
  • Safeguard assets and ensure accurate transaction recording through internal audits and controls.
  • Manage the accuracy of the perpetual inventory system and cost accounting for inventory items.
  • Provide financial analysis tools for evaluating company ventures and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in a related field or Community College diploma in a related field.
  • Two years of progressive responsibilities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency with database applications and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Highly motivated, service-oriented, and detail-oriented individual.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Supervisory and interpersonal skills are required.
