About the position

The Assistant Controller at Country Archer is a key role responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, as well as managing capital projects and budgets. This position is crucial for ensuring accurate financial operations within a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing environment. The role involves direct supervision of the AP/AR team, enhancing processes, and collaborating with plant management to drive cost savings initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of Accounts Receivable, including collection issues and trade deduction management.
  • Oversee the Accounts Payable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and vendor setup accuracy.
  • Track and manage capital projects, developing processes for cash flow management and optimizing payment schedules.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset subledger, including physical tagging and inventory management.
  • Participate in financial and control audits with external auditors, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely reporting.
  • Develop and implement new procedures to enhance departmental workflow.
  • Collaborate with plant management on reporting and cost savings initiatives.
  • Lead, train, and develop the AP/AR team, providing coaching and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
  • At least 6 years of manufacturing accounting experience, with supervisory experience required.
  • CPA license is a plus.
  • Highly proficient with ERP systems, experience with NetSuite or similar is desired.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Office suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
