About the position

The Assistant Controller will support accounting functions to ensure compliance with federal and state finance/accounting laws. This role involves managing various accounting processes, including month-end close, financial reporting, and audits, while also developing financial key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensuring effective communication within the finance team.

Responsibilities

  • Support accounting functions to ensure compliance with Federal and State finance/accounting laws.
  • Navigate Epicor ERP system to set master controls, create SOPs, manage journal entries, and generate financial reports.
  • Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll processes.
  • Oversee the month-end close process and generation of sub-ledgers.
  • Create and monitor financial budgets and manage bank exams and financial audits.
  • Perform reconciliation and auditing of payroll, accounts payables and receivables, general ledger, and fixed assets.
  • Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Analyze financial reports and assist in interpreting financial data to identify profitability improvement opportunities.
  • Manage approved annual operating plan (AOP) sales forecasts and budgets.
  • Support the development and maintenance of financial measurements for sales growth, fill rate, and profit margin.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of work experience in corporate finance, financial planning, cost accounting, and cost standards in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with accounting-related computer programs and software.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data accurately.
  • Effective time management skills to meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA, CPA, or CMA certification preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and inventory management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain relationships internally and externally.
