The Assistant Coordinator for the Certified Nursing Assistant Program at the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the program under the Division of Workforce Partnerships. The responsibilities of the Assistant Coordinator also include scheduling and coordinating program logistics, maintaining student records, and preparing reports for both internal and external purposes. The Assistant Coordinator will also participate in departmental support activities, including attending training sessions and assisting with special events related to the program. This position is part-time, requiring 19 hours of work per week, with the possibility of evening and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily operations of the Certified Nursing Assistant program.
  • Provide extraordinary customer service to students, faculty, staff, partners, and visitors.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of the Certified Nursing Assistant program requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Serve as staff in workforce offices, assisting individuals seeking information about the program.
  • Ensure high levels of quality and responsiveness in communications and customer service.
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating assigned programs and services, including instructors and staff.
  • Coordinate the preparation of program materials and delivery logistics.
  • Assist students in interpreting testing and assessment results.
  • Communicate effectively with Coordinators and other staff to ensure successful program operation.
  • Responsible for entry of student registration tracking and data input into the student information system.
  • Assist in maintaining individual records and documentation.
  • Prepare reports for internal and external purposes.
  • Attend in-service and job-related training sessions.
  • Assist in all program special events.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Advanced computer spreadsheet, database, and word processing experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
