The Assistant Corporate Controller will assist the Controller in directing the financial activities of the consolidated organization and its subsidiaries. This role involves preparing or directing the preparation of reports that summarize the company’s business activity and financial position, focusing on income, expenses, and cash flows based on past, present, and expected operations. The position allows for remote work up to two days per week, except during peak work periods, such as quarter close. Key responsibilities include reviewing monthly financial consolidation for worldwide operations, assisting in the preparation and review of quarterly external reporting requirements, and preparing analysis of quarterly results compared to prior years and budgets. The Assistant Corporate Controller will also monitor and review new technical pronouncements from the SEC, FASB, and AICPA, determining their impact on the company and recommending implementation strategies. Additionally, this role involves overseeing compensation accounting for corporate, conducting due diligence site visits for potential acquisitions, and maintaining global accounting policies and internal control policies. The Assistant Corporate Controller will serve as a liaison to external auditors during their reviews and audits of quarterly and annual results.

Responsibilities

  • Review monthly financial consolidation for worldwide operations
  • Assist in preparation and review of quarterly external reporting requirements, including Form 10-Q and Management's Discussion and Analysis
  • Assist in preparation and review of Annual External Reporting, including Form 10-K, Annual Report, and Proxy Statement to Shareholders
  • Prepare analysis of quarterly results compared to prior year and budget for Management
  • Monitor and review all new technical pronouncements from the SEC, FASB, and AICPA, determining impact to Company and recommending implementation strategy to Management
  • Oversee compensation accounting for corporate, including effects on Earnings Per Share calculations
  • Perform annual impairment test of goodwill and other identifiable intangible assets
  • Review valuation models and reports to determine fair value of assets related to acquisitions
  • Conduct due diligence site visits to potential acquisitions and report findings to senior management
  • Maintain and update global accounting policies and internal control policies
  • Serve as liaison to external auditors in their review/audits of quarterly/annual results

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. and CPA required
  • 10+ years experience required, with at least 4 years with a major, international public accounting firm
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
  • Ability to write qualitative reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on special projects
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve complex financial and accounting issues
  • Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and manage several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to independently manage large projects
