About the position

The Controller Director at Sensata Technologies, Inc. is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions and ensuring the financial health of the organization. This position involves integrating finance operations, managing forecasting and budgeting processes, handling tax matters, and preparing comprehensive financial reports. The Controller Director plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the financial reporting system and ensuring compliance with accounting guidelines and internal policies. In this role, the Controller Director will direct the accounting operations and oversee the preparation of annual financial forecasts. This includes ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded, filed, and reported. The Controller will also review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports, providing insights and recommendations to management. Additionally, the position requires advising on the development, modification, and execution of company policies, as well as addressing any budget variances and reporting significant discrepancies to management. Collaboration with auditors is another key responsibility, ensuring compliance with all regulations. The Controller Director will also direct the development of financial accounting systems necessary to maintain reporting requirements and advise on accounting integration activities for post-acquisition closings. This includes process mapping, accounting policy harmonization, and systems integration. Furthermore, the role involves recruiting, training, developing, coaching, and managing a team to ensure that priorities and deliverables are met. The Controller Director will work closely with management and executive teams to share reports and analysis findings, ensuring that the financial operations align with the overall strategic goals of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the accounting operations and the preparation of annual financial forecasts.
  • Oversees the integrity of the general ledger, including the review of accounting records and financial statements.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and interprets financial and budgetary reports.
  • Ensures that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported, and are in compliance with accounting guidelines and internal policies.
  • Advises on the developing, modifying and executing of company policies.
  • Accounts and researches any budget variances, reporting significant discrepancies to management.
  • Oversees the collaboration with auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
  • Directs the development of financial accounting systems required to maintain reporting requirements.
  • Advises on accounting integration activities for post-acquisition closing, including process mapping, accounting policy harmonization, and systems integration.
  • Recruits, trains, develops, coaches, and manages team to ensure priorities and deliverables are met.
  • Works closely with management or executive teams to share reports and analysis findings.

Requirements

  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelor's degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation.

  • CPA Required.
