About the position

The Assistant Cyber Security Analyst at Concurrent Technologies Corporation is responsible for monitoring operations, responding to security incidents, and assisting in the development and implementation of security procedures. This role involves working closely with the cyber and IT teams to conduct vulnerability assessments, perform system monitoring, and contribute to the creation of IT security policies. The position is designed for individuals with a foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles and a desire to grow in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing monitoring of operations, responding to security incidents as they occur.
  • Triaging and escalating security related service desk tickets.
  • Assist in the development and testing of security procedures and playbooks.
  • Assist with design, implementation, and monitoring of cyber security systems.
  • Perform system and network monitoring for security threats.
  • Work with the cyber and IT team to perform vulnerability assessments and remediations.
  • Conduct cybersecurity research and training to maintain staff readiness and user awareness regarding cyber-attack trends and methods.
  • Assist with the evaluation of network architectures and new technologies for security vulnerabilities and impacts.
  • Assist with creation of IT security policies and provide security documentation for awareness purposes.
  • May lead or support design, analysis, deployment, support, and administration for various cyber security systems and applications.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity discipline plus 0-2 years of related experience.
  • Experience with Linux, Windows, and Mac Operating Systems.
  • Understanding of network and application-based attack trends and defense methods.
  • Knowledge of operating system hardening, computer incident response, vulnerability assessment, and security patch management.
  • Familiarity with penetration testing, network security, and techniques to expose and correct security flaws.
  • Broad understanding of security technologies including firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus software, and IDS/IDPs.
  • Experience with security tools such as network sniffers, vulnerability assessment tools, and log file analysis is considered a plus.
