Responsibilities

• Support the department manager in daily operations and team leadership.
• Create worklists and oversee project completion.
• Order and receive plant material, ensuring quality and availability.
• Train and onboard new employees, fostering a knowledgeable team.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of employees and departments.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the store.
• Facilitate planning of events and workshops to engage customers.
• Drive a sense of urgency and ownership within the department.

Requirements

• Proven experience in horticulture sales, garden center management, or a related plant-based industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to oversee projects and delegate tasks effectively.
• Experience in training and onboarding new hires.
• Understanding of watering techniques and systems for plant care.
• Confidence in selling plant products and assisting customers.
• Willingness to treat plants for pests or diseases as needed.
• Basic understanding of business profitability and financial decision-making.
• Competence with technology, including Microsoft products.
