About the position

Our client, a popular fashion brand, is seeking a Design Assistant to support their team in New York. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about fashion design and is looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment. The Design Assistant will be responsible for completing various design tasks using Adobe Suite, as well as providing administrative support and data entry. The role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. Candidates must be able to commute to NYC without the need for relocation, as this is a temporary position.

Responsibilities

• Create design boards, concept decks, and colorways as needed
• Update CADs as needed using Adobe Illustrator
• Maintain and update line sheets, specs and sample requests
• Maintain design studio organization and neatness
• Keep seasonal colors and prints up to date in necessary work spaces
• Collate the proto fit binder using fit notes and fit photos
• Organize and maintain mock-up library
• Manage design specs/ info in PLM system including seasonal requests
• Assist Design Team with filling, organizing, scanning and photocopying
• Create Style pages and unique style number
• Liaise with Fabric and Color teams to make sure that fabrics are correct
• Liaise with Merch team to cross check SMS order, creating new styles when necessary
• Liaise with PD teams to manage calendar deadlines

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design, Product Development or related field
• 1+ years of experience preferred in design field and/or strong internship experience
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) required
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Must be very flexible/adaptable, a fast learner and able to manage in a fast-paced / ever-changing environment
