About the position

The Assistant Director of Annual Giving at UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television (TFT) plays a crucial role in the fundraising team, focusing on engaging alumni and constituents through unique storytelling and development initiatives. This hybrid position involves creating print and digital materials, organizing stewardship events, analyzing annual giving data, and managing donor relations projects to enhance the school's fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Create unique print and digital materials to engage and solicit alumni and constituents for annual gifts.
  • Organize stewardship events for annual giving donors.
  • Capture, analyze, and report on annual giving data.
  • Identify needs, priorities, and resources relevant to alumni programming.
  • Work on alumni projects and special writing assignments.
  • Manage donor relations projects to share stories of faculty and alumni.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years' demonstrated experience in a fundraising environment or related field such as sales, marketing, or business development.
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of fundraising at a research university or institution of equivalent complexity.
  • Excellent written communication skills for composing, proofreading, and editing correspondence and reports.
  • Strong communication skills to convey information accurately and persuasively.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to take initiative and manage workflow effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and build lasting relationships with various constituents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with database and email applications.
  • Knowledge of database management and manipulation for data retrieval and market segmentation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of donor files and respond to inquiries with discretion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with a Blackbaud CRM system or equivalent database.
  • General knowledge of basic gift terminology and application of writing skills to a fundraising program.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
