About the position

The Assistant Director of Compliance will support the daily operations of the Athletics' Department Compliance Office, ensuring adherence to NCAA regulations and institutional policies. This role involves developing educational resources, monitoring recruitment activities, and maintaining student-athlete records, all while fostering a culture of compliance within the athletics program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining a comprehensive rules education platform for various stakeholders.
  • Monitor and organize recruitment documentation related to athletic activities.
  • Enter, update, and maintain student-athlete information in databases.
  • Manage textbook distribution for scholarship student-athletes in coordination with academic staff.
  • Serve as a sport-specific liaison to assigned programs.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with NCAA bylaw 15 awards.
  • Oversee the complimentary admissions process through ARMS.
  • Conduct initial-eligibility evaluations for all sports according to NCAA standards.
  • Interpret NCAA and conference legislation for coaches and staff.
  • Assist in the certification of continuing eligibility for student-athletes.
  • Assist in preparing annual NCAA reports and Title IX certification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and education.
  • Minimum of 1 year working in a DI NCAA Compliance Office, Conference Office, or the NCAA National Office.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and NCAA Application.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • High degree of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ability to interpret complex concepts and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to relate to a diverse community.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with the application of Bylaw 15.
  • Proficient in ARMS/Teamworks software.
  • Strong working knowledge of NCAA bylaws and legislative processes.
