The Assistant Director, Athletic Development and External Affairs at Texas A&M International University plays a crucial role in securing philanthropic support for the athletics department. Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with coaches and staff to identify priority fundraising needs.
  • Develops and formats templates for events, sponsorships, and supporter organizations.
  • Serves as a liaison with the Dustdevil Club and related committees.
  • Assists in developing a comprehensive athletic public relations and fundraising program.
  • Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards major gift prospects.
  • Develops contracts and agreements related to athletic development efforts.
  • Pursues major gifts fundraising and ensures appropriate recognition.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships within the University community.
  • Manages media advertising for radio, print, and TV.
  • Oversees athletic publications and promotional materials related to fundraising.
  • Manages the digital marketing budget.
  • Plans and evaluates effective special events such as camps and banquets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field.
  • Six years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Knowledge of NCAA bylaws and Conference regulations.
  • Strong public speaking, interpersonal, and computer skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Strong long-term planning skills.
