About the position

The Assistant Director for Athletic Operations and Facilities plays a crucial role in managing the athletic facilities at La Salle University. This position involves coordinating facility management, scheduling, event management, and serving as a liaison with various university departments. The Assistant Director is responsible for hiring, training, and overseeing support staff, ensuring compliance with NCAA regulations, and maintaining a safe and efficient environment for athletic events.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination of all aspects of facility management for the Athletic facilities.
  • Ensure all proper procedures are followed in the daily opening and closing of the Athletic facilities.
  • Assist in coordination, development, and implementation of policies and procedures for use of all Athletic facilities.
  • Coordinate Athletic game management and all special events held in the Athletic facilities.
  • Serve as a liaison with university departments including Physical Facilities, Public Safety & Campus Recreation/Intramural Office.
  • Recruit, train and evaluate all assigned student support staff within the Athletic department.
  • Hire, train and oversee all student workers for events and supervise an Operations Intern.
  • Assist with the set up and breakdown of Athletic events, rentals, and other events.
  • Supervise campus events in the TruMark Financial Center and other Athletic facilities.
  • Perform general maintenance on all Athletic facilities.
  • Complete facility checklist on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis and place work orders for necessary items.
  • Serve as Event Manager for assigned events and rentals and as secondary Event Manager for Men's and Women's Basketball games.
  • Liaison with visiting teams and officials.
  • Support La Salle University's educational philosophy and the goals of the Athletic Department.
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA Bylaw 10.1 and Bylaw 11.2, as well as Title IX regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and adherence to NCAA and member conference rules and regulations.
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification must be maintained.
  • Valid driver's license and successful clearance of motor vehicle record check.
  • Successful background check clearances including PA Criminal Records Check, FBI Fingerprinting Check, and PA Child Abuse Clearance Check.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.
