About the position

The position involves overseeing the financial management and budgeting for the department, ensuring compliance with district policies and procedures. The role requires collaboration with department supervisors to create and manage annual budgets, generate financial reports, and provide recommendations for program profitability. Additionally, the position includes managing payroll operations, financial reporting, registration and revenue management, and leading the finance and human resources staff within the department. The candidate will also be responsible for developing policies related to financial management and maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and monitor the department's financial operations, including accounting processes.
  • Collaborate with department supervisors to create and manage annual budgets.
  • Generate detailed financial reports and presentations.
  • Oversee and coordinate department payroll operations.
  • Ensure proper reconciliation of accounts and timely payments.
  • Utilize financial data to create forecasts and analyze trends.
  • Coordinate the registration, billing, payment, and collections processes.
  • Directly manage the department's finance and human resources staff.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to financial management.
  • Stay updated on current financial rules and best practices.
  • Assist in the creation of operational documents and marketing materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in Finance, Accounting or business-related field.
  • Strong knowledge of budget development, financial reporting, payroll processes, and accounting standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial management software, databases, and Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with public school district financial operations.
  • Experience with out-of-school programs and/or childcare programs.

Benefits

  • Annual Contract: 250 days
  • Salary Range: $88,173 based on experience
