About the position

The Assistant Director for the Center for Career Exploration and Success (CCES) at Miami University will play a pivotal role in supporting the career development of students within the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC). This position involves developing innovative career-related programs, establishing effective relationships with faculty and staff, engaging with employers and alumni, and leveraging institutional data to enhance services for students. The role also includes teaching responsibilities and participation in various career development initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate innovative career-related programs for the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC).
• Establish proactive liaison relationships with faculty and staff within CEC.
• Conduct career advising, exploration, and career assessment appointments.
• Engage employers, alumni, and parents in programs and services.
• Leverage institutional data to inform decision-making about services offered to students.
• Advance programming and services related to assigned Career Interest Cluster(s).
• Collaborate with the CCES Employer Relations Team to extend relationships with employers and stakeholders.
• Support programming and outreach to under-served student populations.
• Teach first-year and/or career development courses as needed.
• Assist in coordinating office-wide special events, programs, workshops, and career fairs.

Requirements

• Master's degree with one year of transferable experience.
• Experience as a graduate student may be included.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree with more than one year of work experience within engineering or computing and/or student development at the collegiate level.
