About the position

The Assistant Director for the Center for Career Exploration and Success (CCES) at Miami University will play a crucial role in supporting the career development of students within the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC). This position involves developing innovative career-related programs, establishing effective relationships with faculty and staff, engaging with employers and alumni, and leveraging data to enhance services for students. The role also includes teaching responsibilities and participation in various career-related events.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate innovative career-related programs for the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC).
• Establish proactive liaison relationships with faculty and staff within CEC and serve as the primary contact for assigned academic departments.
• Promote and complete career advising, exploration, and career assessment appointments.
• Engage employers, alumni, and parents in programs and services in conjunction with the Employer Relations Team.
• Leverage institutional data to inform decision-making about services offered to students and conduct assessments to evaluate program effectiveness.
• Advance programming and services related to assigned Career Interest Cluster(s).
• Teach first-year and/or career development and co-op courses as needed.
• Assist in coordinating office-wide special events, programs, workshops, and career fairs.

Requirements

• Master's degree with one year of transferable experience.
• Experience as a graduate student may be included (counted at half-time).
