About the position
Represent NYU to a wide and diverse audience in high schools and community colleges around the United States, specifically promoting the Community College Transfer Opportunity Program (CCTOP) which provides recruitment, admission and support services to students transferring from select community colleges. Advise prospective students, parents, and high school/transfer counselors regarding admissions policies, procedures, academic programs, and financial aid opportunities. Evaluate applications and recommend admissions decisions for all of NYU's undergraduate colleges; review and evaluate credentials. Oversee and delegate tasks related to the Community College Transfer Opportunity Program (CCTOP). The Office of Undergraduate Admissions aims to develop, support, and empower a workforce that reflects the diversity of the students we serve. This is a three year fixed term position.
Responsibilities
- Represent NYU to high schools and community colleges promoting CCTOP.
- Advise prospective students, parents, and counselors on admissions policies and procedures.
- Evaluate applications and recommend admissions decisions for undergraduate colleges.
- Review and evaluate credentials of applicants.
- Oversee and delegate tasks related to CCTOP.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2+ years admissions or related student services experience
- Ability to promote the University and work independently as well as part of a team
- Outstanding interpersonal, public speaking, and writing skills
- Ability to handle sensitive situations and/or people
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel extensively.
