The Assistant Director of Community Engagement at 1199SEIU Family of Funds plays a pivotal role in overseeing the newly formed Division that aligns with healthcare industry goals and stakeholder objectives. This position is responsible for implementing outreach initiatives aimed at supporting unemployed and underemployed community residents. The Assistant Director will collaborate closely with the Director to ensure that the division's strategies are effectively executed and that the community engagement efforts are impactful and sustainable. In this role, the Assistant Director will direct, supervise, and develop the Field and Workforce Development staff. This includes conducting community assessments, surveys, and working with partners to recruit candidates for the Career Pathway Training (CPT) program. The Assistant Director will monitor the work of the Field and Workforce Development staff to identify best practices that ensure quality partnerships and programs. Continuous evaluation of partnerships and programs will be essential, as the Assistant Director will lead efforts for ongoing improvement and effectiveness. The position also requires collaboration with other divisions within the Training and Employment Funds (TEF) to recruit, support, and refer CPT candidates. The Assistant Director will develop strategies and content to promote CPT pathways and foster collaborations with community partners. Additionally, the role involves implementing work plans and evaluating TEF's community-based partnership and engagement efforts. The Assistant Director will assist in developing and conducting specific community needs assessments and coordinate efforts with the Research & Evaluation team as necessary. To ensure quality programming, the Assistant Director will observe and join staff in the field, providing support, feedback, and coaching. Maintaining effective relationships with key local organizations and community partners aligned with TEF strategies is crucial for the success of this role. The Assistant Director will also be expected to perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management.
