About the position

The Assistant Director of Community Engagement at 1199SEIU Family of Funds plays a crucial role in overseeing the newly formed Division focused on healthcare industry outreach. This position involves collaborating with the Director to implement strategies aimed at supporting unemployed and underemployed community residents through the Career Pathway Training (CPT) program. The role requires strong leadership, project management, and analytical skills to ensure effective community engagement and partnership development.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director to oversee the Division aligned with healthcare industry goals.
  • Direct, supervise, and develop Field and Workforce Development staff conducting community assessments and recruiting candidates for the CPT program.
  • Monitor the work of Field and Workforce Development staff to identify best practices for quality partnerships and programs.
  • Evaluate partnerships and programs, leading continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with other TEF divisions to recruit, support, and refer CPT candidates.
  • Develop strategies and content to promote CPT pathways and collaborations with community partners.
  • Implement workplan and evaluate TEF community-based partnership and engagement efforts.
  • Assist with developing and conducting community needs assessments in coordination with the Research & Evaluation team.
  • Observe and support staff in the field to ensure quality programming.
  • Maintain effective relationships with key local organizations and community partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Labor Relations, Organizational Development, Education, Healthcare, or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum six (6) years' experience in training, consulting, education, workforce development.
  • Four (4) years supervisory experience required.
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to create partnerships.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
