The Assistant Director - Creative Content & Multimedia plays a crucial role in the Department of Athletics at Harvard University by implementing content and multimedia initiatives. This position collaborates with communications and marketing teams to create engaging visual content that promotes the department's mission and goals, focusing on storytelling through cinematic video production. The role involves supervising staff, managing multimedia projects, and ensuring high-quality content creation for various distribution channels.

Responsibilities

  • Independently devise, storyboard, and plan multimedia feature content.
  • Spearhead department-wide content creation initiatives related to Harvard's mission and core values.
  • Shoot and edit creative video content from Harvard athletics events.
  • Supervise LHTs, temps, interns, and student staff in content creation and editing.
  • Recruit and train part-time creative roles for multimedia projects.
  • Maintain and service multimedia equipment, recommending new purchases as needed.
  • Assist in the production of live broadcasts and video board shows during events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least three years of experience in video editing, videography, or creative content creation.
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in sports videography or sports creative content creation.
