About the position

The Assistant Director for Athletic Fundraising at Wheaton College is responsible for managing a portfolio of prospects capable of making significant contributions to the college's athletic programs. This role involves qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors, with a focus on raising funds between $1,000 and $50,000. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders to achieve fundraising goals and enhance the college's athletic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 150-175 prospects for Wheaton College athletics.
  • Solicit leadership annual, major, and planned gifts for Wheaton College Athletics.
  • Meet specific meeting and solicitation goals, including 100+ visits with individual donors and raising $500,000 per year.
  • Identify, qualify, and cultivate donors interested in supporting Wheaton College Athletics.
  • Collaborate with the AVP for Athletics, AVP for Individual Giving, varsity coaches, and the Individual Giving Team to track progress and share updates.
  • Develop and execute strategy and content for the Lyons Athletic Club and giving campaigns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-3 years of frontline fundraising experience with an understanding of Athletics in higher education.
  • Experience with email marketing tools, database management, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with GiveCampus and Blackbaud technology is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
