About the position

The Assistant Director for Global Initiatives at the University of Houston plays a crucial role in supporting the Institute for Global Engagement by developing and managing global initiatives and opportunities for students, faculty, and staff. This position involves overseeing various programs such as the Global Citizens Credential and Peace Corps Prep Programs, coordinating Fulbright opportunities, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to enhance the university's global engagement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage University of Houston global initiatives and opportunities for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Manage the Global Citizens Credential and Peace Corps Prep programs, including advising students and leading program events.
  • Coordinate Fulbright scholars and specialists' awards, supporting faculty and staff in applications and marketing.
  • Establish relationships with faculty and staff to develop new global initiatives.
  • Interact with various globally focused offices on campus to ensure consistency in global initiatives implementation.
  • Lead the International Education Week committee annually in collaboration with other global offices.
  • Prepare analytical and statistical reports for leadership.
  • Design and evaluate strategies to expand program offerings for global initiatives.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
