About the position

The Assistant Director for Intake and Investigations in the Office of Professional Conduct at the FDIC is responsible for overseeing the intake and investigation of complaints related to harassment and interpersonal misconduct. This role involves managing unit chiefs, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of investigative reports, and developing policies and training materials. The position requires strong leadership and investigative skills to handle sensitive cases and maintain compliance with federal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Intake & Investigations Section, managing two unit chiefs.
  • Provide guidance and technical oversight for case intake and investigations.
  • Review investigative reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop and maintain policy and procedural documentation.
  • Provide advisory services on best practices to executive management.
  • Conduct presentations, briefings, and reports as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with EEO, DEIA, and other personnel plans.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of records systems.
  • Conduct high-priority investigations requiring tact and diplomacy.
  • Assess evidence and draw conclusions regarding misconduct allegations.

Requirements

  • Experience in coordinating the work of employees, including assigning and evaluating work.
  • Experience in setting performance expectations and assessing employee performance.
  • Experience in leading investigations into sensitive cases of employee misconduct.
  • Experience in applying federal personnel laws regarding investigations.
  • Experience in supervising non-criminal investigators.
