About the position

The University of Notre Dame is seeking an Assistant Director of Marketing to join its Athletics department. This role is pivotal in supporting the successful implementation and completion of various marketing campaigns aimed at enhancing the student-athlete experience. The Assistant Director will be responsible for developing and placing marketing campaigns and collateral, tracking the performance of existing campaigns, and generating reports on their results. This position operates under the guidance of the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing and requires a proactive approach to marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will execute marketing campaigns through traditional media ad buys and trade agreements, assist in the execution of paid digital marketing campaigns, and maintain campaign landing pages. Ensuring continuity in campaign messaging across owned and paid channels is crucial. The Assistant Director will also identify trends and insights to optimize spending and performance based on these insights. Regular updates to the marketing and sales teams regarding campaign data and trends will be expected, along with suggestions for new promotions, ads, and competitions to enhance brand awareness and audience engagement. Additionally, the Assistant Director will develop and execute marketing plans for non-ticketed sports and assist in creating marketing campaigns to increase donations for initiatives like NIL and the Rockne Fund. Collaboration with the Notre Dame Global Partnerships team will be essential for planning and executing partnership marketing activations. The role also involves working closely with the Email Marketing Manager to achieve overall campaign goals, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels, and maintaining campaign landing pages.

Responsibilities

  • Execute marketing campaigns through traditional media ad buys and trade agreements.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years experience in marketing and/or communications position.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated breadth of marketing knowledge with a strategic view on search optimization, brand reputation management, and inbound marketing programs as well as paid, earned, and owned media goals.
  • Strong background in creative and innovative thinking and execution, with demonstrated capability for storytelling, creative content creation, and persuasive messaging.
  • Excellent time and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well independently with direction and as part of a larger team.
  • Fast learner with creative problem-solving skills.
