About the position

The Assistant Director for the NSF I-Corps Hub: Great Lakes Region will oversee daily operations across partner and affiliate institutions, ensuring program execution aligns with grant requirements and budget constraints. This role involves strategic planning, program implementation, and maintaining collaborative relationships to foster innovation and economic growth in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning, execution, and budgeting of regional programming to meet program goals.
  • Oversee data collection for evaluation purposes and ensure timely reporting to the National Science Foundation.
  • Partner with the Hub Director to shape and execute the annual strategic plan.
  • Collaborate with Hub Leadership to track expenditures and uphold grant metrics.
  • Serve as the main operational point of contact for the NSF I-Corps Hub.
  • Provide updates and required documentation to NSF program officers.
  • Oversee logistics for I-Corps programs and events, including vendor contracts and budget oversight.
  • Contribute to the Hub's annual strategic planning process and support achievement of performance metrics.
  • Participate in the I-Corps Hub Broadening Participation Working Group.
  • Manage I-Corps program delivery, including curriculum development and team communications.
  • Supervise contractors and students involved in program support and manage training sessions for new instructors.
  • Work with program directors to recruit and prepare teaching talent and program participants.
  • Host remote and in-person classes, workshops, webinars, and meetings.
  • Serve as the primary contact for program participants, addressing inquiries related to funding and program guidelines.
  • Oversee the I-Corps Hub CRM system and data management activities.
  • Manage program surveys, track attendance, collect feedback, and assess participant progress.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in program management.
  • Strong communication, listening, and influencing abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Background in customer-focused roles with a commitment to outstanding service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems for data management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Lean Launchpad methodologies and customer discovery.
  • Familiarity with technology commercialization pathways.
  • Experience with Zoho CRM and associated products.
