About the position

The Assistant Director of Advancement Services on Scholarships is responsible for managing the complex and confidential process of awarding and stewarding Foundation Scholarships at Stockton University. This role involves collaboration with the Development and Alumni Relations team, ensuring effective management of scholarship funds across various software systems, and providing stewardship to donors. The position requires interaction with multiple stakeholders, including students, parents, and university departments, to facilitate scholarship processes and maintain strong relationships with donors.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Foundation Scholarship Management and Stewardship software (Blackbaud Award Management).
  • Administer and interpret applicable principles, federal and state laws, and regulations regarding public institution distribution and management of Foundation Scholarships.
  • Provide comprehensive training for the Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee and other relevant campus partners on using Foundation Scholarship Management software.
  • Ensure timely distribution of scholarship award letters through the scholarship software.
  • Assist with determining and identifying Foundation Scholarships awarded annually, notify recipients, and request appropriate acknowledgment.
  • Advise and counsel students, parents, donors, and prospective students with Foundation Scholarship inquiries.
  • Provide high-level stewardship to constituents, including distributing annual donor appreciation letters and endowed statements through the Foundation Scholarship software.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Communication and Stewardship in promoting, planning, organizing, and executing the Annual Scholarship Recognition Dinner.
  • Develop, compile, and disseminate precise, technically sound, and explanatory reports from Argos, Blackbaud Award Management, and CRM Advance to support the department and campus partners in scholarship and stewardship statistics and information.
  • Collaborate with Advancement Services and Finance teams to monitor progress and establish new Foundation funds.
  • Continuously review and evaluate workload and ways to streamline the scholarship processes and update the Foundation Scholarship website and Scholarship Management software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Two years job related experience
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word, as well as complete command of internet navigation and research.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a university environment
  • Experience with Banner (Finance, Financial Aid or Advancement Module)
  • Experience in accounting or business.
